The working group plans to collect 100 life stories of Rwandans living in Montreal. She starts out by speaking about one of their most important community partners, PAGE-Rwanda, a community group formed by parents and friends of the victims of the Rwandan genocide of 1994, and which provides psychological counseling and promotes awareness.

As part of the Life Stories Montreal project, the Cambodian Working Group is composed of people from the Angkorian community, people from the Khmer Buddhist temple as well as student affiliates. Their 5-year objective is to collect approximately 120 life stories of Cambodians living in Montreal.

Toby Butler is the creator of Memoryscape, ‘sound walks’ that invite you to experience the hidden history of a place by listening to the memories of inhabitants, both historical and contemporary, as you walk through it. He is in the Geography Department, at Royal Holloway, University of London, and at the Museum of London.
