Now We're Really Cooking

This school week was only three days long, but so much is happening! On Saturday and Sunday, not one but TWO interviews were conducted and filmed! In addition, we were able to return to Mr. Smey’s house to take photos and film to use as b-roll. We are working obtaining pictures of Cambodia from various websites in hopes to be able to put visuals on Mr. Smey’s interview.

We now have three very different interviews. We have Mr. Smey’s recorded interview which we have all become very familiar with and have condensed to just what we want for our film. We have an interview with Dr. Chalk which will be used to fill in some context for our audience. Kayla has also interviewed Mr. Pong, another Cambodian survior. We are very grateful to Dr. Chalk and Mr. Pong for agreeing to be filmed; their interviews are very informative and interesting.
There have also been some challenges in the past week. Having everybody in the class watch and interpret the videos in such a short amount of time has been challenging. We are meeting on Tuesday for an all-day workshop to storyboard our film, which we are excited about!
