HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED WITH THE MONTREAL LIFE STORIES PROJECT?
• As an intern
The Life Stories Montreal project proposes a variety of internship opportunities for students pursuing studies at either the CEGEP or university levels and for community members. These internships offer students the opportunity to gain knowledge and skills within a scholarly environment, and constitute a unique opportunity for them to work with members of communities participating in the research, within the « Sharing Authority » research model.
Internship applicants should be interested in and ideally have some experience in the following areas:
- Research on genocide, war and other human rights violations
- Oral history and/or other social sciences
- Audio-visual editing and documentary production
- Education and pedagogy
- Database development and/or website management
- Event, conference and symposium organizing
- Dramaturgy, performing arts, community or activist art
- Communications
Internships...
- are unpaid;
- are of 120 hours spread on one semester (about 1 day a week during 4 months);
- are done within one of the 7 working groups or with the central team.

Montreal Life Stories Project will be ending in March of 2012. This is your last opportunity to do an internship with us!
We are currently looking for interns for the following positions:
- Post-production, video/audio editing, and web dissemination
- Assistant to the central coordination team (events organizing and communications)
- Deep listening and processing of interviews
- Research intern (Henry Greenspan's project)
Details and conditions:
- Unpaid internship. Possibility of receiving credit within your program of study.
- Flexible hours, depending on your availability:
- Work at the Centre for Oral HIstory and Digital Storytelling at Concordia University (1400 de Maisonneuve boul. West), métro Guy-Concordia.
Please note that candidates should be available to attend the general mandatory training on January 23 and 24, from 5:30 to 8:30pm.

You are a member of the general public who wishes to donate your time assisting with an aspect of the Life Stories project. Your interest may come from a personal connection with one of the communities or organizations involved or from a desire to gain new skills and knowledge. You can assist with research, interviewing, administration, and events organizing. To get involved, you will need to submit an application form, a CV and a statement of intent.
• As a student affiliate
(Not available after January 2012)
You may be a student pursuing studies at the university with an academic interest in any aspect of the project, such as research on genocide, war, human rights, oral history, performing arts, videography, refugees, youth, education, or on any of the regions highlighted by this project. You could become a member of the research team and carry out your own research project (supervised study, masters dissertation, PhD thesis) within the framework one of the seven working groups'.
