Wikipédia (consulté le 27 juillet 2009) définit ainsi cette nouvelle expression, pour laquelle il ne semble y avoir aucun équivalent français: "Digital storytelling" is an emerging term, one that arises from a grassroots movement that uses new digital tools to help ordinary people tell their own 'true stories' in a compelling and emotionally engaging form.” Bref, il s’agit de diffuser des récits de vie à l’aide de médias numériques.
